Beschreibung
The Istanbul Convention was drafted in 2011 and signed by a number of countries in Europe. Yet, ten years onwards there is still a large debate on the “correct” way of implementing Article 36, that is highlighting the importance of consent, in particular.
In its proposal for a directive on combating violence against women, the European Commission is proposing to take up the approach of the Istanbul Convention within the Union. Together with our esteemed experts we will discuss sexual and societal consent in Europe from the political, advocacy, legal and victim perspective and what it means to build a true consent culture:
Welcome Remarks: Nikolaus v. Peter (European Commission)
Moderation: Louise Osborne (Flawed Pod)
Panellists:
- Kirsten Leube (European Commission)
- Charlotte Proudman (Goldsmith Chambers)
